Estimated repayments are estimates only based on the information you input. They are for illustrative purposes only and are not an offer of finance. The calculator may allow you to select an input (e.g., repayment frequency, loan period) that may not be available for your actual business loan. Estimated repayments do not include fees and charges payable for your business loan and therefore can be higher or lower than the actual figure shown.

This is general information only and does not take your circumstances into account.

How this range is worked out, in full

It starts with your monthly profit and subtracts the loan repayments you already make. What is left is the surplus. Only part of that surplus is assumed to be available for a new repayment, because no lender lends to the last dollar and no sensible business borrows to it either. That portion is then run backwards through the repayment formula to give a loan size.

Every number in that chain is on the screen above, so you can see exactly how the range was produced rather than trusting a black box.

Why it is a range and never a single number

Two lenders looking at identical figures will land in different places. They weigh security, industry, trading history and the consistency of the income differently. Anyone showing you one precise borrowing figure from four inputs is showing you a guess with false confidence.

What lenders assess that this cannot

Security and what it is worth. How long the business has traded and through what conditions. The ATO position. Whether the profit is consistent or lumpy. Director history. A calculator sees four numbers. A credit assessment sees the business.
